Arash AF-10

as per:
Jeremy Clarkson
First prototype of 550bhp Brit supercar: the Arash AF-10

this is the first fully functional prototype of the 550bhp Arash AF-10 supercar.
Conceived by Arash Farboud and announced way back in 2006, this working model of the long-awaited AF-10 features a 7.0-litre Corvette V8 and quite a lot of weapons-grade tech.
...
You get a ‘featherweight, Nomex-cored' carbon-fibre body, triaxial carbon-fibre and aluminium honeycomb core, steel roll cage and flat underfloor to assist aerodynamics.
Speaking to TopGear.com, Arash says the base AF-10 pictured "will produce between 550 and 580bhp, and around 370lb ft of torque", but higher-spec AF-10s will hit a heady 1,200bhp - the same as a Veyron Super Sports.
But the comparison ends there.

Arash says the Big Daddy 1,200bhp version "is practically a Le Mans car".
While the base AF-10 hasn't been put through any 0-62mph/top speed tests, Arash is "aiming for a three-second 0-62mph time and a 207mph top speed".
Interested?

The 550bhp model you see above costs £320,000, while the 1,200bhp version will set you back around £1.6 million. You then get into the rather expensive business of customising your AF-10, which includes anything from the gear ratios to having your name painted onto the body.
"Customers in this market enjoy that kind of thing," he says.
It's more expensive than a Ferrari 458, Mercedes SLS and Lexus LF-A - but looks like a racing Enzo with testes. What say you, supercar lovers?

A German Inspired Buick

Well, is it step up or is it comprise against our American integrity? The new 2011 Buick Regal is said to be German inspired whether being it's sheepish new look, chassis, or drive train I really don't know. In my honest opinion, this new Buick is no "shock and awe". If you threw a Hyundai insignia on it, you wouldn't even be suspicious. It looks absolutely meek, sheepish, and bland.... ya, that's I want to drive, NOT! Well, that's my take, bad move on GM's part and way to corrupt our American integrity, Bravo! Germans, please help us build a car cause apparently GM can't do it themselves, maybe if we stop using so much dam plastic and put a little metal into building some cars maybe then quality will follow? ----> 2011 BUICK REGAL

Monterey 2010

The annual Monterey classic and exotic car festivities may culminate in the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, but there are literally dozens of events during the week to keep everyone happy. Check out our official Autoblog Monterey Calendar if you doubt us. Our favorite way to kick off the week is always Wednesday night's McCall's Motorworks Revival at The Monterey Jet Center. The Jet Center Party, as it's more informally known, brings together some of the most significant cars from all of the other events, along with many of the celebs and VIPs, lots of fabulous food and beverages, and an awesome assortment of classic warplanes and new jets for sale. It might sound like an odd mix, but it makes for a perfect start to our week in Monterey every year.   ------> McCall's Motorworks Revival

Our first stop during the annual classic and exotic car feast up in Monterey every year is always the Jet Center Party, more formally known as McCall's Motorworks Revival. This year was no exception and aside from the copious amounts of food and drink available, there were of course some cars to sate our appetites.

One that immediately caught our eye was sitting right in the middle of the centerpiece Lotus display. It was the just-announced Lotus Exos T125 single-seat racer. Even alongside Takuma Sato's current Indy Racing League Lotus Dallara, the Exos draws a huge crowd.  -----> Lotos Exos Debut

Land Rover to launch

Tata Motors CEO Carl-Peter Forster has announced Land Rover production would begin in India in 2011 and Jaguar is looking for a partner to produce cars within China. Although Forster didn't announce which model would be built in the sub-continent, the T5 platform used for the current LR4 and Range Rover Sport seems a likely candidate. That same platform is expected to be used for a replacement model for the classic Defender which is expected to debut in 2012.     -------->New Land Rover To Launch

GM Studied Mid-Engined Chevrolet Corvette Concept With Saab?

There are all manner of rumors concerning the C8 model, with stories ranging from the possibility of a mid-engined platform to all-wheel drive powertrains and even the arrival of a dual clutch version. Although there isn’t much substance to any of these rumors, an inside source--from Saab of all places--has revealed in a trade magazine that the Swedish automaker was enlisted by GM to develop a dual clutch transmission for a mid-engine version of the Corvette.   Corvette 2013 pics  Corvette teams up with Saab

Military Wants a Battlefield-Ready Flying Car

Wow this is pretty incredible, DARPA if officially pursuing ways to develop the first generation of flying type Humvee. This type of technology if ever brought to the battlefield would yield outstanding results. Why? Well, first of troops would be able to maintain moderate protection when landing and through transit on the ground, provide immediate response that is demanded on the battlefield  , and etc... The only down side as of right now that I see would the propulsion or powerplant. I suppose you could go with a turbine engine but there are several deficiencies such as land transit, turbine aren't really tried and true on land. I guess we'll leave it up to the engineers at DARPA to figure it out!--------> DARPA Flying Humvee

HondaJet Plans 3Q 2012 Deliveries | AVIATION WEEK

This has been a long time coming. Finally Honda takes to the air and with its reputation on the line. Honda is known for their reliability, cost effectiveness, relatively good quality products, and now that they are getting into aviation it can only get better. This is exciting to see a corporation like this grow and the fact that they opened a facility in North Carolina which will only bring more jobs! Honda's 3Q aircraft is nearly all composites which is definitely a weight saver and with a set a GE turbine powering it, you can't loose! Check out the rest of the story. ------> HondaJet Plans 3Q 2012 Deliveries | AVIATION WEEK

Huge Buses That Can DRIVE OVER Cars

Leave it to China to come up with something revolutionary to help the aging city bus transit system! Developers in china are seeking ways to improve city bus/ public transportation, and what they have come up with is something truly outstanding. Practical application of it though, is very hard to say if it will ever become a reality. What we do know is that the technology exists and if backed by the public there is certainly a future for this project! Read more at ----->  Huge Bus Drives Over Cars

Now This Guy is a Serious Camaro Fanatic

Just looking at a few update on Chevy Camaros through Face book, and saw that there was a crazy Canadian who apparently felt he needed to dump $320,000 into his new Camaro. Ya, in the end he got a sweet drag car with 1400HP, but again why? Well, check out the link and see for yourself! Canadian Drag Camaro

Paper Batteries

Well, finally here we are improving our electrical storage capabilities! This article has been out for some time, but I felt that it should be commented on. So, it started like anything else... A guy in a lab with too much time on his hands and then presto, a new paper battery is born! The benefits of a paper battery first of all, is the amount of space it can save. That's worth developing and marketing it will be a breeze. So, check out the link and watch the demonstration!  New Paper Battery

Gorilla Glass

Apparently it's the hottest newest glass on the market, but only since the development of touchscreen applications. Gorilla Glass was developed in the 60's and has since been stored in some closet in a lab for nearly a half a century. Now, there is a huge need for such for the stuff for the booming need of flat screen tv's and etc... So this glass may very well be in the touchscreen in future car and I assume it must be in aircraft as of late especially in aircraft containing "glass cockpits"! Painting a JSF-35

If the all impressive Joint Strike Fighter wasn't a complex project already, Lockheed has now released a video that gives us a one hint of the complexities of what it takes to paint such an aircraft. I wish my car was paint the same way how the new F-35 is painted. I really don't know the advantage of it would? Maybe escaping from radar traps? Anyway, it is place in the most advance laser guided painting booth that employs so many sensor equipment. Click on the link below to watch the video, enjoy!
